Day 60: You Are Met

I recently heard a sermon preached on Exodus Chapters 16-17, and I was shocked at how much the Israelites were demanding from God. These chapters hold the story of the manna and quail from Heaven and the water coming from the rock – both really well-known Bible stories. In each, the Israelites were discontent and even angry at God. And each time, God showed up for them in ways that they did not expect.

Over and over, God met with Moses apart from the Israel congregation and several times in their presence. The people frequently complained, and the Lord proved Himself faithful again and again. When they were thirsty, water. When they were hungry, food. When they were tired, a place to rest. Regardless of their needs, God always met them where they were at and provided for them.

Regardless of where you are at today, God will show up and provide for you ­– you have only to ask and then to listen. It takes time and intentional growth to know Him, but He is willing to meet you where you are. The question is: are you willing to meet Him?
