This week, I was studying the name “El Shaddai” which translates to the Almighty, all-sufficient God. It was a great reminder that God’s grace is sufficient for us (2 Corinthians 12:9). God is everything we need! Although it is true there are times we need things physically (like food and water), God fills us spiritually at all times.
One of the things I noticed while reading through Scripture is that there are many instances where people in the Bible feel like they need more than what God was giving them. And yet, when they trusted God, they always had enough. God is attentive to every single one of our needs and He always gives in abundance.
As the all-sufficient One, God does not need us, but He wants us. God created man in His image (Genesis 1:27) with the intent that we might have personal relationships with Him. Anything we try to give to Him is already His.
