Day 66: You Are Not Alone

I am reminded of a conversation with a friend back during my freshman year of college. He was going through a challenging time, and I asked him to please come talk to me if anything changed, especially if his situation got worse. And he asked me, “Lia, what if you are having the worst day ever – either mentally or with your autoimmune disease? How could I ever add to that?”

“Then that,” I replied, “is the best time to talk to me about what is going on your life.”

When Elijah was sure that he was all alone, he cried out to God in anger and frustration. As he was open to hearing from the Lord, God came and spoke to him regarding his situation. Elijah tells God that he is “the only one left” worshipping God (1 Kings 19:14, NIV). But God tells him that there are seven thousand others who refuse to worship the gods of the land (vs. 18).

No matter what your situation, know that we don’t face things alone. Not only do we know God will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6), but the Church is growing worldwide and serving the Lord. When we serve the same God, we live with the same purpose. We can trust He knows all things and is in control. You are not alone.
