God looks at us and see us as precious. Even when I feel like I am nothing, God still says I am worth it. I have value because I am made in the Image of God (Genesis 1:27). My value is not wrapped up in what I say or what I do or what I think. It is wholly because of who God is and who He says I am.
Nothing I can do can pull me away from God; no one else’s labels about me can change my true identity; even when I don’t love myself and think negatively (and wrongly) about who I am or what I am, no matter what, I am His. He holds me tightly and calls me His child. He loves me no matter what.
When we start to see others as God’s creation, we see them more clearly for who they are. When we start to see ourselves the way God sees us, we stop blaming ourselves and judging ourselves in unhealthy ways. Once God’s, we should seek to live like Christ and know that our failings and shortcomings are seen by a God who cares for us anyway. You are treasured.
