Paul says later in the Bible, “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you” (James 1:19-21, NIV).
I think that it is important to note that anger in of itself is not a sin, but rather an emotion that God has allowed in us. Even Jesus was angry at times. However, we are never supposed to be consumed in anger so much that we cannot think clearly and rationally. Let us love the way God would, speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15).
